Security & Compliance
PIN Protection
Every contractor receives a unique 6-digit PIN (formatted as XXX-XXX for easy reading). PINs are:
- • Encrypted using bcrypt (industry-standard hashing)
- • Non-recoverable—you can reset but never view existing PINs
- • Session-based—expires after inactivity for security
Instant Revocation
Contractor relationship ending? Click to revoke access immediately. They'll no longer be able to authenticate with their PIN, and all active sessions expire. Regenerate QR codes if you need to completely invalidate old codes.
Getting Started with Smart QR Codes
Step 1: Enable QR Codes
From any unit or cylinder detail page, click "Generate QR Code" in the QR Access section. RefriTrak creates a unique, secure QR code for that equipment.
Step 2: Add Contractors
Navigate to Contractors in your dashboard. Add contractor details (name, email, phone, company). RefriTrak generates a unique PIN and can email welcome instructions.
Step 3: Grant Access
Click "Grant Access" on equipment with QR codes. Select contractors, choose permission template, set optional expiration date. Grant access individually or in bulk.
Step 4: Print & Deploy
Download QR code images and print labels for your equipment. Laminate for durability. Contractors can now scan and access using their PIN.
